Why sell Windows XP laptops? That’s easy:
- Everyone loves Windows XP. It is the last great operating system that Microsoft developed.
- It’s fast. XP does not require as much memory in order to run at a decent speed. The more recent operating systems, Vista and 7, need at least 4-6 gb of memory (RAM) to move quickly. With XP, you can easily get by with 1 gb.
- It’s stable. XP originally came out in 2001, so the bugs have been worked out of it years ago. It’s a stable operating system, so you won’t see the Blue Screen of Death very often, if at all.
- It is still supported by Microsoft. Microsoft will continue to offer security updates for XP until the next OS comes out (the one after Windows 7) – that will be quite some time.
Every laptop I sell has been gone through thoroughly and is in excellent condition (otherwise I won’t sell it). I take off the junk software that you don’t need (AOL signup, Norton trial versions, etc). And I install the software that you do need (here’s what software is installed). So when you get it, it’s safe and ready to be used the very first time you power it up.
The laptops I sell are less than half the price of a new one, they work great, and you don’t have to mess with Windows Vista or Windows 7.
